Why Spring is my “new year”

blank

It’s my season!

Yes, because it’s my birthday, but more than that it’s Aries season!

Did you know that Aries season marks the start of spring and signifies planting new seeds, starting something new and coming in with a fresh wind?

Historically, we treat January 1st as the beginning of the “new year” – forcing routines in an attempt to be the best versions of ourselves… right in the middle of winter.

Now, I don’t know who came up with that, but it doesn’t work for me.

Even in places like Arizona and Florida – where sunshine and warmth are in abundance – there is still a slow down that comes in the first few months of the year.

Astrologically, the Spring Equinox that occurs mid March marks the true beginning of a new cycle – a time of planting what we hope to grow and harvest later.

Spring is when animals emerge from hibernation.

When energy returns.

When flowers begin to bloom and life starts to stretch itself open again.

Spring is the promise of brighter mornings.

It is the fresh wind after dark storms.

The sunlight after a hurricane.

Spring is the quiet reminder that life begins again.

Spring ishope in action.

And Aries?

Aries is the ram – bold, forward-moving, ready to break through whatever stands in its way.

May you find a fresh wind within the season of awakening.

May it inspire your dreams, your health and most of all your hope.

Take care of you. That matters, too.

Happy Birthday to my fellow Aries!
